Regular meeting - Molly Winton: Design and Turning

October 25, 2017

Noted Seattle area woodturning Molly Winton will provide October's OPCAAW demonstration on design and wood turning. Winton, a resident of Edmonds, has demonstrated for our club before. She is nationally known for her fine embellishments using pyrography.

"A brief exploration in pottery introduced me to the importance of form and design, the foundation to any embellishment of my turning, be it branding, pyrography, coloring, texturing, or carving," Winton said. "I endeavor to make wood pieces that pursue excellence of form and beg to be picked up and caressed."

In addition, October's meeting will feature announcements, Show and Tell and the wood auction. Members also will have access to our library and to sandpaper and CA glue sales.

Gathering starts at 6 p.m. Announcements begin at 6:30.
