September 15, 2024

Learn the basics of making a lidded container, also known as a box. This will be done with bowl and spindle gouges, a parting tool, and scrapers. Embellishment will use a point tool, texturing tools, and burning wires. We will also be using Forstner bits and Sandpaper. A friction finish will also be used.

Blanks will be provided and club turning tools and chucks are available.

Please bring the following to class:
A face shield, Safety Glasses or both.
A turning smock or a shirt or sweatshirt with tight-fitting cuffs
Comfortable non-slip shoes, preferably not sandals
Drinking Water to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day

Class will be at the West Side Improvement Club, 4109 West E St ,Bremerton WA, starting 9 am (8 am setup) and ending 4 pm, with an hour for lunch. Bring lunch, as there really isn't anywhere close enough to conveniently pick up a meal in a timely manner. There is a Crazy Erics a couple blocks up the street.

If you try to sign up and the class is full, please sign up anyway. That way we can contact you if there is a dropout, or, if we generate enough interest, we can schedule an additional class session.

Any questions? Feel free to email Larry Lemon or George Kromka.
