All-Day Demonstration Featuring Nick Agar – Early Registration Open

The Northwest Washington Woodturners have scheduled a day-long woodturning demonstration by noted turner Nick Agar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m March 11 in Anacortes. Early registration discounts are available for the event through Feb. 12.

The demo includes segments on bowl turning from basic to embellished; turning a platter; texturing techniques; color and gilding; and plenty of time for Q&A.

Nick Agar learned traditional methods of woodturning in England and subsequently developed extensive knowledge and use of more contemporary turning techniques. He has gained a worldwide reputation for his texturing, coloring and embellishments on bowls, hollow forms, platters and wall sculptures, such as the one in the photo. His demonstrations are lively, entertaining and informative.

The Northwest Washington Woodturners were forced to cancel the last two All-Day Demos because of COVID but are happy to be able to offer the program again this year. Registration fee is $50 through Feb. 12; $60 thereafter. The fee includes a deli lunch, beverages and snacks.

This annual event sponsored by our fellow woodturners club offers quality skills training for turners beginning through advanced. For more information and to register online visit the Northwest Washington Woodturners’ website. To register, simply click on the yellow “buy now” button on that page.
