Regular Meeting - Sawdust Session, Tool Sale and a Visit from the Boardhoarder
–
November 30, 2022
The November meeting of OPCAAW will feature a sawdust session with mini-workshops as well as member Tool Sale and a chance to visit with and purchase wood from the Boardhoarder.
Sawdust sessions offer a series of teaching stations using the clubs lathes during which members and guests can get hands-on instruction from some of the club's best turner-teachers.
So far, these are the sessions to be offered:
Scott Overby on using the Ruth Niles concentric jig
Brad Powers on turning pens
George Kromka on sharpening band saw blades
Jimmie Allen on box making
Tones Briggs on bulb-style Christmas ornaments
Ellen Winnie on alternative Christmas ornaments
Tim Larson on the skew chisel
Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., with the business meeting starting at 6:30. Members will vote to select officers and Board members for 2023.
There will be Show & Tell and the wood auction before the Sawdust Sessions begin.
