Learn about coloring and embellishments at this month’s meeting

The January meeting of OPCAAW will feature a demonstration and presentation on coloring and embellishment by Brad Stave.

Brad just ended a three-year run as our President and before that served as Vice President for Training for our club. He has done several demonstrations on different kinds of embellishments for wood turning both for our club and at others around the region. Brad is known as one of our leading embellishers. His work is displayed at Poulsbo’s Verkstad Gallery. He is know for his carving, milk paint and basket illusion work.

Brad plans to show how you can add embellishment to your pieces with simple tools.

The regular monthly meeting is Jan. 25. It begins at 6 with a social time, followed at 6:30 by announcements, Show & Tell and the Wood Auction. The demonstration begins after that.

The meeting will take place at the Bremerton Seventh Day Adventist School, 5088 Taylor Rd., Bremerton. Members who wish may attend virtually via Zoom. A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent out a few days prior to the meeting.

For those who were depending on attending via Zoom, we did have difficulties finding enough video crew volunteers to allow for the Zoom meeting to take place. The OPCAAW Board is continuing to seek help from members to run our video and audio systems at the meetings, which allows us to both serve in-person attendees and also to broadcast our meetings via Zoom.
