The Olympic Peninsula Woodturners formed in 1986 and became a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners in 1989.
OPCAAW is led by a board of directors who set policy and act under the terms of the club’s governing bylaws. The organization boasts more than 150 members from Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson and Clallam counties in Washington State.
We normally meet the last Wednesday of every month (November, if the last Wednesday falls on Thanksgiving eve, and December are the two exceptions). Our normal meeting place is the Seventh Day Adventist School, 5088 NW Taylor Road, Bremerton, WA. Check the listings in our calendarto verify upcoming meetings and events. Our meetings are open to the public; you do not have to be a member to attend.
Meetings feature a local, regional, national or sometimes international demonstrator, as well as a Show and Tell of members’ work, a wood auction, announcements and opportunities to access the club’s library and to purchase sandpaper and CA glue.
There are many benefits of membership, especially access to our mentoring program. Membership in OPCAAW is $30 per year.
OPCAAW is open to all who are interested in exploring the craft of woodturning. We welcome guests or members of all backgrounds and we strive to make our meetings and events safe for all.
