The Olympic Peninsula Woodturners formed in 1986 and became a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners in 1989.
OPCAAW is led by a board of directors who set policy and act under the terms of the club’s governing bylaws. The organization boasts more than 120 members from Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson and Clallam counties in Washington State.
We normally meet the last Wednesday of every month (November, if the last Wednesday falls on Thanksgiving eve, and December are the two exceptions). Our normal meeting place is the Seventh Day Adventist School, 5088 NW Taylor Road, Bremerton, WA. A map to the site of each event is attached to each listing in our calendar. Check our calendar for upcoming meetings and topics. Our meetings are open to the public.
Meetings feature a local, regional, national or sometimes international demonstrator, as well as a Show and Tell of members’ work, a wood auction, announcements and opportunities to access the club’s library and to purchase sandpaper and CA glue.
There are many benefits of membership, especially access to our mentoring program. Membership in OPCAAW is $30 per year.
