Regular Meeting: Ralph Lindberg - Holding Wood on the Lathe

June 28, 2017

The regular monthly meeting of the OPCAAW will feature  a demonstration by OPCAAW's own Ralph Lundberg on the subject of different, safe ways to hold your wood on your lathe. Ralph will cover some of the many methods we use to keep wood on the lathe; his hope is to introduce at least one new concept on keeping wood on the lathe to every person attending.

Ralph and his wife Ellen are both OPCAAW members. He has been part of the club for 10 years and an AAW member for the same time He had a pretty complete home shop 15 years ago when Ellen purchased him a lathe for a Christmas present. They've been turning ever since.  Most of his turnings emphasize the practical: Bowls, plates, rolling pins, lidded vessels,  etc.

Also on the agenda are announcements, Show and Tell, the wood auction and a demonstration. You'll also have access to our library and to sandpaper and CA glue sales.

Gathering starts at 6 p.m. Announcements begin at 6:30.
