–
September 29, 2024
George & Sandi will teach techniques for designing, turning, and finish turning tool handles at the Westside Improvement Club 4109 West E St, Bremerton WA, starting 9 am (8 am setup) and ending 4 pm, with an hour for lunch. Bring lunch, as there really isn't anywhere close enough to conveniently pick up a meal in a timely manner.
We will discuss the design of handles, ferrules and materials for them.
The cost is $55 for members ($85 for non-members), which includes materials.
We will turn a handle for a 3-point tool, #2 MT cleaning tool and a scratch awl.
Each student will take home an awl, cleaning tool and 3-point tool.
If you have any tools that need handles, bring them and we will help you to make one.
A face shield, Safety Glasses or both.
A turning smock or a shirt or sweatshirt with tight-fitting cuffs
Comfortable non-slip shoes, preferably not sandals
Drinking Water to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day.
A lunch and/or snack food
Any questions? Feel free to email George Kromka or Sandi Swayzee
Enrollment is "first come, first served," and there are 6 student slots available. If you try to sign up and the class is full, please sign up anyway. That way we can contact you if there is a dropout, or, if we generate enough interest, we can schedule an additional class session.
