This Jet 12/20 Model lathe is about 10 years old and was used by its owner m0stly for demonstrations at craft fairs and local farmer markets. About three years ago it was modified and wired with a new DC treadmill motor and controller that allows it to run at variable speeds and in reverse.
While a used machine, it runs well and is in good repair. The price for a new Jet lathe that’s the replacement for this model is about $1,000.
The 12/20 model is basically a bench top lathe that can turn up to a 12-inch diameter blank and a spindle up to 20 inches long. It accepts Morse Taper 2 accessories in its head and tail stocks.
The lathe comes with 2 tool rests, 6 inches and 12 inches, a live center for the tail stock, 4 prong drive center for the head stock and a Nova four-jaw scroll chuck with three sets of jaws.
